Wedding Bells

An Addendum to our Skookumchuck blog!

Holly and I are getting married! Yes, I did drop to one knee and she did indeed say "yes"!!!

It was on the first night of our two night stay at the Backeddy Marina and Resort at Egmont. I had been planning for a while and had ordered a purple silicone ring as a placeholder for an actual ring to be chosen later. I was nervous and had imagined all sorts of possible responses! I was not expecting, "... about time! I thought I was going to be the one to ask!"

I know I'm speaking for both of us... we are very, very happy!

Our actual wedding will be on October 16, 2025 which is the date of our first meeting nearly 8 years ago at the Tim Hortons in Mill Bay! We were members of a dating site called Fitness Singles and we praise it's value as a way of getting like-minded people together. The wedding will be tiny and include only the essential witnesses (Mom and Sheila), marriage commissioner, Mollie and my sister (photographer!) .

The weekend after, however, we will host a drop in "reception" here at home. More news to follow!
