Holly and I spent two weeks in Ontario where we visited Paul and Deb following Paul's recent back surgery. Holly needed to see her big brothers progress for herself and we are happy to report he is doing very well and is largely back to his normal self! We saw Holly's boys and as much family as we possibly could during a quick visit (a bit shorter than our normal trips). It was 5:00am on Thursday and Vincent was packed and ready to take us to Bella Coola. We were on the 7:45 ferry from Duke Point to Tsawwassen where we began our drive to Lillooet, our first stop. We intended to drive up Highway 1 to Cache Creek and return on Highway 99. A forest fire at Boston Bar closed the road which meant we had to go through Vancouver instead. It was Tuesday morning and we were up at 6:00am to say goodbye to Mollie. We made our way to Victoria for the 10:30 sailing on the Coho ferry to Port Angeles. After a stop at Safeway, we were on our way along highway 101. We got to the rest stop before the big bridge into Astoria where Vincent popped his top (!) and Holly made a chicken stirfry dinner.
