Day 6 Swift Current to Cochrane. We were up with the birds after a nice evening in our new favorite free campsite. The drive to Cochrane was smooth and uneventful (always the best!). We were able to spot a number of prong horned antelope in the hills along the highway.

We had a great visit with Margi in Cochrane and enjoyed seeing her new home and sharing memories of Mike. Trouper is the most lovey and expressive black lab ever and we were probably watched closely so he didn’t “accidentally” get carried away in Vincent!!! We think a motorcycle trip to visit Margi and Trouper is in order!
Day 7 Cochrane to Hope. This was a very long drive day. We left Cochrane at 7:00 and 11 hours later, we pulled into a rest stop along Hunter Creek just past Hope. This was the loudest rest stop we have encountered and it will get a miss in the future! We had a bit of excitement when we became custodian of Daisy, a lost chihuahua. A long story later, we were able to reunite Daisy with her tearfully happy owner!
Day 8 Hope to Home! We woke to rain! What a welcome event. We hope it helps the firefighters and that it’s enough to give the plants a reasonable drink.
It was just a two hour drive to the ferry terminal and we were extremely lucky that we only had 1 sailing wait before being loaded for Nanaimo!
