Valentine’s weekend at Fossil Bay Resort

It has become a tradition to spend two nights a year at Fossil Bay Resort. This resort has 6 private cabins on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Each one has a hot tub on a deck right outside the patio doors! The cabin is one room (21’ x 24’… I counted the tiles!) and contains a bathroom with tub/shower, and an open room with king size bed, a fireplace, dinette and small kitchenette. It also has a TV and internet. There are 6 parking spots and rules that include “no visitors”, no children that can walk (it’s on a cliff), pets OK if approved.
I would describe it as “not fancy but not rustic; not cheap but not ridiculous”.
The views are amazing. It faces South West and sunsets are often breathtaking. We have sat in the hot tub and counted whales as they swam past. We have watched otters fishing and playing. This trip, we have been treated to watching one of our 3 West coast submarines (on the surface!) doing maneuvers right off the coast.
The resort is located between Point No Point (also a resort) and Jordan River. Today we drove to Jordan River and watched the many surfers playing in the waves.
Such a great get away!
